Coffee is the most consumed beverage in the world after water. Coffee has been loved by people so much that the number of people who start their day with coffee today reaches billions. Coffee, which is one of the most traded products on a global scale after oil, has become a part of daily life in recent years. It is often consumed when meeting with friends, studying, at the office, or on special occasions. Coffees can have low or high acidity, fruit-flavored and spicy taste, depending on the type.
Coffee Types by Aroma and Region of Growing
All coffees in the world grow in the equatorial belt, which is called the “coffee belt”. There are hundreds of varieties of the four main coffee beans (arabica, robusta, liberica, and excelsa), and the naming of coffees is usually made according to the region in which they grow. The main types of coffee can be listed as follows:
- Brazil: It is one of the countries where the most coffee is produced in the world. Coffees made from Brazilian beans are quite tasty. Brazilian coffee made from Arabica coffee beans stands out for its low acidity, floral, and hazelnut aroma.
- Ethiopia: Ethiopia is the homeland of coffee. Ethiopian coffees, which have a mostly fruity taste, grow mainly in their natural areas and even with little care. Wet-processed Ethiopian coffees are brightly colored.
- Colombia: The most washed-in coffees in the world are Colombian coffee. Colombian coffee made from Arabica coffee beans gives intensely thick, chocolate, peach, and walnut flavors.
- Costa Rica: Hardcore coffees are grown in Costa Rica, which have different microclimates. Costa Rican coffees with acidity offer a balanced drink. It has a floral and spicy aroma.
- Kenya: Coffee beans are blacker. With its intense acidity, the aroma of grapes, blackberries, and lemons comes to the fore. Kenyan coffee is also a washed-up coffee.
- Guatemala: Each region of this small country has different climatic properties, so you can find coffee beans with different aromas. Coffee with high acidity has a sooty and spicy structure.
- Turkish Coffee: Brazilian Arabica is used most in Turkish coffee. It is consumed with little, medium, and very roasted. It has a low- and medium-roasted citrus and fruity taste, while the very roasted tastes harder and darker chocolate.
