Men’s wear is the most important sub-branch of the ready-to-wear and clothing business in Turkey, both in terms of production and exports, parallel to the global market. Men’s clothes accounted for 16 percent of the 18.5 billion ready-to-wear and garment exports in 2014. In other words, men’s clothing exports account for almost one-sixth of total sectoral exports. The most important basic products of the men’s clothing industry are blazers, coats, coats, jackets, trousers, overalls, suits, shorts, and most importantly, shirts.
In 2019, the country was the fourth largest textile exporter in the world, accounting for nearly 3.3 percent of total exports. The industry is also still showing signs of growth, with the value of both textiles and clothing exported having more than doubled since 2000. A large proportion of textile and apparel exports from Turkey end up in European countries such as Germany and the United Kingdom.
